Our Kingdom Mandate

In August, 1999 we both heard a word from the Lord; “Come work for me.” We left a successful Telecommunications career in Dallas, TX. In obedience, James returned our 15,000 shares and left a hefty salary and perks to wait on the Lord to open doors. While visiting our son in Austin, the Lord gave us the ministry name International Christian Servants, Inc. (ICS). We spoke in one church, and waited for three months for further direction.

During prayer with upper cervical advocates, we felt led to join a grass-roots movement to promote these doctors who had been instrumental in James’ healing two years earlier. A vision was placed in us to see an acknowledgment of honor regarding their diversities entwine the five factions of this unrecognized scientific method of health and healing.

We didn’t realize until months after we started visiting these brainstem specialists in their offices, that God had divinely established us in an incubated form of marketplace ministry. We were handed a tape by Rich Marshall after James spoke at a Full Gospel Businessmen’s meeting, which confirmed the walk we’d unknowingly started with business people brought divinely into our lives. We were divinely connected to the author, David High, a few months after that.

Through prayer, a desire to take these UC doctors to the mission-field was birthed. We waded through the experiment of arranging for 10 Christian servants, and 36 doctors to make a mission trip to Costa Rica in July, 2000. During the trip, we noticed that the doctors were Jewish, New-Age, Catholic and various Protestants who had no relationship with Jesus nor respect for the diversity of each others profession.

One night they used their instruments to verify a man had a brainstem subluxation. His intense pain and suffering was evident to everyone in the church. Through prayer and to the doctors’ amazement, Jesus performed a miracle healing on the man. Several recommitted their lives that night. Within a year, 7 more were born again and filled with the Holy Spirit.

Over the next few years, we discovered that the doctors were our mission, as we developed intimate relationships on the mission field. After a short stint at pastoring, we felt the pull to commit our lives to develop the vision these doctors and other business-people had been given by God. This required that we travel and spend personal time with them as individuals.

During fellowship one evening, James jokingly said we were, “The Church on the Lam(b)”. The name riveted inside our hearts. We realized that we were a “church without walls” that met outside the four walls of a building.

In 1998, Joe McGee, a visiting evangelist told us we were a family of Levites. We had no idea what he was talking about. Several years into our marketplace ministry walk, we realized that as spiritual Levites, we should not own a business, but instead trust God for His Kingdom provision. With that revelation, we watched God bring our provision.

To date, we visit and help doctors who invite us, attend seminars and conventions for business people, pray over their needs via phone & email, and speak in churches.

James and I co-partner to speak in churches about this ministry of healing and Marketplace influence. We believe God allowed James to suffer before bringing his healing through this science so that we would gain true passion for it. We’ve learned that His ways are higher than our plans and make little sense until we look backwards.

UC HIM produced a mission video that is available to churches or groups interested in going on a mission trip or in learning more about the healing power of Jesus demonstrated by the laying on of hands. You may contact us for a copy or further information.
